I have a bad configuration with a stove between cabinets & a tall pantry. I recognize this is a fire hazard as there are heat/burn marks on the side of the pantry. Aside from removing the pantry, can anyone think of any solutions? Maybe some coating or something I can put along the side of the pantry to handle the heat?

Line cabinets surrounding stove with a fire retardant substance, then cover that with stainless steel surrounding stove. I'd do it on cabinet above, and wall behind too. --108.69.xxx.xxx |

Find a sheet metal shop and have a piece of stainless steel cut to size.
Had one place with it 25 years on a side pantry cabinet and on the back wall.
Has worked well and still looks nice.

If you want to save yourself a trip, HD has stainless steel backsplashes that you can order online that are 24"x30". They come in white, black, bisque and stainless finish. I put one behind all of my stoves. Reduces fire damage and cleans up easily when they move out! --204.210.xxx.xxx |

I buy three SS sheets to fit the range surroinding from an on line store, they arrive well packed and go on around the stove cavity very nicely. I fasten them with a bunch of little SS screws.
