Most newer refrigerators are energy efficient which means the compressor is smaller then spins a lot faster so there will be noise. Unless buying refrigerator which uses a electronic board then the compressor works at lower speed therefore less noise. --147.194.xxx.xx |

Why don't you try to describe it here and maybe someone will know if its time to get rid of it or call a repair guy. I had one in an unit that was really too noisy and I'm ashamed to say I did not get anything done about it. Tenant remarked on it but didn't complain. You've listened to it and think it is normal refrigerator noise so the tenant will get used to it and learn to tune it out.

I got a snicker out of that also Plenty - remember when we used to call random phone numbers and ask that same question! My little brother got in so much trouble because he called our Sunday school teacher, she asked him his name and Bazinga - he was toast on Sunday, I think she had been called a few times before he did it.
So anyway if it a up down type there is a good chance you can fix it, listen for the noise thru a 3ft piece of garden hose to help pinpoint it, then let you tube help you out, if it is a side-by-side you will prolly spend more than the cost of a up down to make repairs. --76.188.xxx.xx |

Let a repairman determine whether the noise is normal or not. Then follow thru.

It happens in older fridges when the compressor cuts off, there is an audible "shudder". Someone told me a gasket wears out in them, IDK exactly where but it softens the sound doesn't impact the running of it. --71.219.xx.xx |

Our new fridge just started making noise- turns out the ice machine was on the fritz.
Maybe ask the tenant to record the noise on their phone and then send it to you?
