Thinking of buying house needs both termite tenting and new roof on the flat part of the roof. What do you do first? some of wood is chewed up and needs to be replaced. Also Orkin gave price of $2100 for 2100 Sq ft. That sounds like lot of money for tenting. Also in Fl. this time of year its difficult to get roofers. Any ideas? THANK YOU!!!! --76.110.xxx.xxx

Your problem is the flat roof. They are horrendous to keep from leaking. Seriously, don't do that. Friends daughter works at law firm with a flat roof. This morning they had so much water come in over their equipment that they are basically out of business today. They got a new AC unit and it seems like someone stepped on some tar bubbles on the roof. --73.178.xxx.xx

I would look to increase the roof angle so that metal roofing could be used, when sealed at riser seams during the install this stuff will last 40plus years. Swimming pools work best on or under the ground. --76.188.xxx.xx

If it’s a flat roof have it redone with a rubber roof. Should be all set for many years. --98.216.xxx.xxx

For a roofer, call local supply houses. They always have pros buying from them wanting more work. --174.221.xxx.xx

There are a variety of materials you can use on low-slope roofs. EPDM is a high quality product and will last a long time. Roll roofing is much less expensive but only lasts 10-15 years.

Are you saying you cannot afford to do both? --99.92.xxx.xxx

Hi

Thank you.

Would you do the termite tenting first or the roof repair first and take out the old termite wood out first

Thank you! --76.110.xxx.xxx

When there wasn't going to be rain in the next few months, I had my roof removed from a vacant home. I then had my Termite company examine in the attic, on top of the roof and did special local treatment before tenting. With no roof the chemicals move more freely. Then after the tenting was complete, I had the necessary wood replace ( the termite company removed infested lumber and replaced them) and a new roof installed.

My tenting company has lots of tents and for a fee would leave the house covered to protect it from the elements and would remote is with 1 days notice. --47.156.xx.xx

Tenting for Termites: Should get the tenting done ASAP to stop anymore damage to the house.

Flat roof: Depending on the amount of money you want to spend on the house, you could have a roofing contractor build up the roof add more of the slope to it.

OR

Your best option would be do a rubber roof and be done with it. --99.56.xx.xx
