Who do I call to fix this? Wiring problem with sprinkler system.

Automatic watering system. Control timer is getting power, I can set clock, adjust settings, but water won't flow to the sprinklers unless there is a new 9 volt battery in the timer. I'm guessing that the power that opens the sprinkler valves has been mis-wired to go only through the battery and not through the house electricity.

Wiring inside timer is a speghetti mess and I don't do electricity.

Do I call a company that installs irrigation systems? Do I call an Electrician?

I can't afford to put a new 9 volt battery into this control box every few days to keep the water on. --174.216.xx.xxx

I had a mechanical rainbird timer that probably lasted 30 years. I now have several electronic timers at different locations and they seem to get circuit board problems after a while and need to be replaced (even when installed indoors) .

Once while I was on vacation, the timer at my house decided to start watering all 12 stations 3 times a day. The guy at Home Depot said he hears about these types of problems a lot. --174.212.xx.xxx

Irrigation company.

I'm sure an electrician can fix this, but you will be paying his hourly rate while he learns to work on gear that he's never seen before.

Car audio installer? Please.

Since we're guessing and since I "do electricity", my guess is that the power supply from the house wiring has gone bad, leaving the 9v battery to do all the work. It's highly likely to simply need a new $15-20 wall wart.

Too bad you are unwilling to give it try. It's probable that there is documentation and/or YouTube video on he web that will walk you through fixing this. --68.156.xx.xx
