As a relative newbie, when filling out ads for rentals via Craigslist, I found they provide a checkoff box for designating "washer-dryer hookup," which i assumed meant that a hookup was or was not available to accommodate a given prospective tenant's OWN washer and dryer. But today, when prospects came - a - looking, I abruptly seem to have found otherwise.
Please give me your takes on this issue.

So the "come a looker" thought that washer and dryer were included??? I think they mistakenly read the ad not that the ad meant differently. But that is nothing new, prospective tenants always seem to think things that aren't there or don't read the full description. Part of the business to weed through them. --108.44.xx.xxx |

Washer dryer hookup means the plumbing and wiring is there to bring in their own machines.

If you want them...and all it would take is a used washer and a used dryer ... Put it in.
As written above, washer dryer hook up means the plumbing is there and the space, bring your own.

NO FREE FRIES!!! What do you mean TENANT's ARE entitled to it!!!
Check your local rental store. What is the monthly costs for a Washer and Dryer.
Let the prospect know hook ups are there. If tenant wants a washer and dryer the monthly rent will increase X for the Washer and Dryer. Increase your income stream.
No glitch only opportunity!!!!

Tenants abuse laundry machines and they are a source of repair bills.
It is much easier to get good tenants in a unit with laundry in the unit, but I let tenants provide their own machines so I don't have the repair bills and tenant is responsible for damage caused by leaks, broken water lines and blocked dryer vents. --174.216.xx.xxx |
