Just read the article about housing prices in Seattle since Amazon moved in. HQ2 is rummored to be on the south of ATL (along with 20 other city's) We already have a shortage of homes south due to the airport expansion (never ending). I would like to do as they do on the TV show "American Pickers" and bundle them up (63 sfh's). I know it's a dream put I'm putting the deal together in my head-- just in case. Whether Amazon ends up there or not, and whether you keep them or cash out, I know you'll do well regardless! --96.46.xxx.xx

So you don't know that Seattle was about to pass a tax on Amazon of $500 per head of employees to raise money for the homeless? Amazon backed out. They are not coming. --73.178.xxx.xx

Amazon's original headquarters were subleased in the Pac-Med building on Beacon Hill, from 1998-2009 (2010?), at a rate of $1.5M/year. But around 2004-2005, they had grown so much, they decided they needed a planned campus.

From 2010 until the current day, Amazon has had its headquarters at the South Lake Union campus. When they moved in they had 5,000 employees. Now, 40,000 people work there.

It's currently scouting a location for a second hq, which will be staffed by an estimated extra 50,000 employees and will cost an estimated $5B. --96.46.xxx.xx

I'd love to be situated in your position... HUGE payout if it hits. There's no way they're gonna go somewhere with high labor like on the coasts, etc.. I think GA is on their short list at this point and many of the cities on the list are there to make them feel good, even though they're really not even in the running. --173.24.xxx.xxx
