We have a prospect, coding specialist, working from home, the employer is out of town. Is that going to be a problem? She also has second job, similar, employer is from out of town too.

How long can someone work for both jobs? Each job makes over 4000/month.

$8K a month sounds high to me for a work from home insurance coding specialist. You should still be able to verify employment even with an out of town employer. Also, ask to see her income tax return. --98.146.xxx.xxx

Coding (computer programming) is a fairly high paying job that requires a computer. Not much else. It could easily be done at home for a company half a world away. Don't forget we can skype and teleconference for meetings too. I would imagine a high speed internet connection would be needed. --96.236.xx.xx

This is the industry I work in. Unless a supervisor, medical coders make less than $20/hr. but frequently get overtime. Allowing them to work from home is a common perk for fast and accurate coders. --68.156.xx.xx

Sometimes you just roll with it. Life has no guarantees. Ask for two month's back statements, check expenses going out and income coming in. Could work out, there are real people out there with real jobs, who really can be good tenants! You deserve a few of those too! --99.203.xx.xx

She gave paytub for two jobs, does not want to give bank statements.

The second job is new and I do not how long she can keep two jobs. She would be too tired to keep two jobs. --97.91.xxx.xxx

Perhaps she only started first job too. I would need the bank statements... Not negotiable on it... Much needed. --99.203.xx.xx

CJ, there is a pattern here. Once they start telling you they won't follow your rules, you shd let them GO.

Medical coding (for sending out the bills) is a job that doctors out-source instead of hiring someone to work in their office. And the greater part of those coders work out of their home on computers. I know because my sister with MS does that as an income because she now only walks with a walker and is practically stuck at home. She works for 2 dif Med practices. If you have a quiet home with few distractions you can do it easy. In an office you have distractions, interactions, phone calls, lunchtimes and several breaks.

But this applicant is already telling you what she won't do. THAT is the problem with her--not the work. Tell her she either follows the rules or she won't be considered. Keep looking for another applicant. If you take her there will be more rules she won't follow, and she will expect you to give in again. --108.87.xx.xxx
