I was at the Sheriffs office this morning doing an income execution. In the next office an older man was in there trying to get help.He is a tenant and let his daughter in law and grandkids move in when they got evicted and now they wont leave. He thought the sheriff should send a deputy and remove them but they told him he had to do an eviction just like a landlord. He told them he will just move out to another apartment and they can't come come with him.I was thinking the landlord is going to love this guy.I stayed out of it. --72.231.xxx.xxx

Yea, and it'll come back on him for the eviction. That's sad story for the guy and for the landlord.... --98.175.xxx.xxx

Well at least he won't have to deal with them while the eviction goes on. They must be awful. --69.141.xxx.xxx

Ken,

Great story!

He was one of those folks who said it's OK to rent to relatives.

What a way to go, I have been exploring a new area by visiting housing court a few months, learned that just 1 county away is 10 percent late fees - but this is the good part - retroactive 12 months as long as documented, second cause hearings go fast in this place but the eviction lineup filled the hallway to the stairway - holiday blessing for those that fed the family tree and neighbors too. --76.188.xxx.xx

interpretation is key here. you focused on "rent to relatives" ... I focused on "rent to someone who was evicted" ... and on the side wondered where his wonderful son was that he allowed daughter-in-law and grandkids to move in ... with no mention of the son.

renting to relatives isn't a bad thing. renting to someone just because they are a relative is. --72.70.xxx.xx

The old man is a tenant and allowed the family members to move in.If he was a landlord I would have spoke to him in an attempt to buy the house. The son was not mentioned but I am guessing jail --72.231.xxx.xxx

So the old man was a tenant too? Didn't own the property. Sad. Really sad. --99.203.xx.xxx
