Google translate is a life saver for me both in person and via text. I just pre-qualified someone communicating totally in Spanish using a combination of google translate and google voice. Many of the applicants for my fourplex are Spanish speaking and one of the first things I often get asked in broken English is if I speak Spanish. I tell them the only way I can do that is if I use google translate. I texted her and carried on a complete pre-qualification interview totally in Spanish and it turns out she's got a decent job at the local Walmart and was able to go through her pay, hours and what to bring to the open house. She's been one of the best candidates I've had so far. Hopefully, she'll take the place. She is fairly well educated as well as their were no words misspelled. Misspelling words messes up the translation. --207.172.xx.xxx

GKARL,

You amaze me! I cannot get Google Translate to more than one translation and even that is awkward the it freezes up.

I bought the app SPEAK & TRANSLATE. Works GREAT!

Brad--I need to try that one. Google translate can allow you to speak as well but it gets a bit buggy at times. --207.172.xx.xxx

Excellent GKarl of PA,In the States the main language is English. However with that being said. Some Landlords here would have a language barrier. Basically LL can not understand the person speaking Spanish and this is acceptable. I think its more of a concern and a factor of a misunderstanding/miscommunication between LL and tenant. Especially communicating the lease and the importance of paying on time or addressing any breaches of the lease. WELL MANY tenants that speak and SHOULD understand the English language don't care IF they breach the lease..

Within the last week on HGTV a couple moved from I think New Zealand to Vietnam to teach English. It was a spare of the moment move and they wanted an adventure in their life. That's an adventure for sure.

Imagine moving to a totally new country and learning a new language, a new culture and it would be an adventure.

Imagine moving from the small country living to a big city like New York or LA or Miami. I personally would not want to live in Miami, FL because of the traffic, its horrible driving in Miami. Of course its a city that never sleeps, you can find a restuarant open 24/7...

Again GKarl excellent that you were able to use another resource to help with the language barrier. She may rent from you for years... --99.56.xx.xx
