I was going to try this a couple of years ago -- Tec Power Grout in that case -- until I read a lot of very bad reviews online about the grout not coming out in the proper color or changing color over time. I decided not to try that brand.

Now that I am doing this again, the local shop is promoting a stain brand called Ardex. I can't find much information or reviews online about this brand.

Has anyone had success with stain resistant grout? Or is it better to stick with the old fashioned kind and just seal it myself as I've done in the past?

We have used the Fusion Pro grout from Home Depot that is supposed to be stain resistant on a couple of jobs and so far we're very happy with it. We haven't noticed any changing color, but it's only been a couple of years and only one of the houses has turned over.

I haven't used the Ardex grout, but I know that Ardex makes some very good products. --70.178.x.xx

All brands have a urethane based grout in their product line.

I frequent some tile forums/pages and have only really heard of Tec,custom(fusion pro),and Mapei ever being used. I'm sure there is a good reason for that. I've tried other brands and they weren't that good. Never had a problem with Mapie flex color and I think that is what most professional's prefer from what I've read. --75.108.xxx.xx
