The eviction went pretty smoothly today. I went to the rooming house this afternoon to find out how the preparations for the evictee's move was coming along. He said he had nowhere to go and I reiterated that his stay in my place was at an end and I'd be back in a couple of hours to change the codes. When I came back, he was packed and ready to go. I gave him a refund of his advance week and walked him out the door. He paid a $ 200 SD which I'm keeping. I'll probably have his room rented in the next couple of weeks.

Having the room furnished was very helpful in moving this along. All he had to do was pack his clothes in his back pack and head out.

As I think back, I think he was just an alcoholic and just passed out in the bathroom yesterday. He kept it together for the first couple of months of occupancy and just deteriorated over the past few weeks. He was probably my shortest term occupancy at a 2 month stay. He was formerly living with his sister and I suspect he got put out of there as well. He has a job at a local grocery chain making about 26k a year so I'm thinking he's functions well enough to keep his job.

As I think back about the signs, I remember the distinct smell of mouthwash when I first met him but under that I detected the faint smell of liquor. I dismissed it at the time, but that was the hint of the problem right there.

The incident was the source of some "excitement" among the other residents.

Congratulations, I think you made the right move by not giving him another chance. Sad situation, but he would have caused more problems sooner or later. --72.188.xxx.xx

How was this an eviction without the Sheriff? An eviction is when you get a writ and the sheriff comes and throws them out. --73.141.xxx.xxx
