Firing a Handy Man (by Ray-N-Pa [PA]) Apr 20, 2021 12:35 PM

DJ posted last week about having to fire a contractor.. I WISH I was at that point with this handy man in training . But I simply can't fire him. Nope they have to show up for you to fire them.

Sad state of affairs

Probably better that he fired himself anyway or you may have had more problems. --73.120.xx.xxx

I have fired plenty. One for breaking into my house and my mothers to steal drugs and money. One for sending me the text he meant to send to his baby mother, stating he had no support money because I did not return his text that day and labeling me a copulating female dog(why do these kids think all texts have to be answered pronto? I was on a long walk with my dogs). Another for steeling tools(she is a woman, she won't notice), and another who did not show up for work but came by to fill up his mothers car with my gas. The handymen I hire for my farm tend to drop out because they are unable to handle summer heat. The most recent generation is not very impressive.

Do what I did with the mistexter, I sent him a check for hours worked, thanked him for his service, and wished him luck in his subsequent jobs. --216.23.xxx.xx

I hope your luck turns around, soon.

The one I just terminated came yesterday, signed my form / receipt, took my check for work done & didn't say much.

Another crew was busy (still is) installing windows, doors, siding. They seem to be doing good quality work. : ) I am paying a premium rate, though.

The new framers will be starting Thursday. Recommended by the structural engineer, so I have high hopes.

Ray,

Haha! So true!

I cannto recall firing any workers in a long time. They usually just disappear, sometimes even before getting a check. BRAD

We are so blessed, have had the same guy helping us since 2008. He knows the properties & the tenants. Comes every time we call him asap. He's appreciative of the work, and tells us so. He's helped us remodel several repo units we've bought.

He's not the fastest worker in the world but he tries to do what we want. --71.219.x.xx
