I mailed out our first quarter tax estimates.

2020 finished strong and 1st quarter 2021 is high enough the tax preparer called me to double check "This is much higher than last year. Is this correct??" even after all the great deductions we get thru real estate.

This QUARTER alone (Jan, Feb, Mar) I paid more INCOME TAXES than I used to make in an entire year on my "good paying" job.

(Newbies: taxes are a PORTION of what you make. Nothing to fear when you have the income. It's kinda like a humble brag!)

We stayed on top of lates, got our people to the aid agencies, creatively removed some moratorium squatting deadbeats, and followed thru with my lease's automatic rent increases.

Congrats to you! After listening to you today I went over my numbers and found we were 5.9% higher income than last year. Who would have thought. We have not done anything taxwise yet. I guess I need to let the accountant know, I am sure there will be some consequences. Who would have thought we would have brought in more income. I kind of attribute it to not much movement from out residents. That just shows you how much the tenant shuffle costs us in revenue.
