So finally, after pining for a Dodge Viper since their introduction in 1993 I am the proud owner of a beautiful black 1999 model. My question is this: Do you think that it would be a bad idea for my tenants to see me driving this or not. Should I only go to my properties in my p.u. truck. In Ca, I made the mistake of driving my then-husband's Range Rover to a property because of the # of people I was taking.....MISTAKE. | I used to have two of those. When I was in college I used to buy and sell exotic sports cars. I'd keep them around for a while, and then sell 'em for more than I paid. That was probably the last time I actually remember having fun in my life, seriously. The past few years of the real world has been a sobering experience. Anyway, be careful with that car. What's a Dodge Viper? Is it something akin to a Rolls Royce? Personally, I don't understand any car being a status symbol. (Unless, perhaps, you rattle around in an old Model T: LOL) Now a boat! If you keep you rental units in tip top shape, treat people right, respond to their legitimate complaints promptly, seems to me they will not care what you drive. Along with Irish's thinking... I think that a lot of it has to do with the class of rental that we are dealing with. With an upscale unit or community, a Viper will barely raise an eyebrow. On a lower-end property....no eyebrows will be raised either as most won't even know what it is. I'd probably drive the pick up truck around so I would have the necessary tools with me, if needed. --68.53.193.212 |

Congrats Billy! Drive the car anywhere you like... IF you give the tenants a good product AND screen your tenants you should have no problem. HOWEVER, IF you rent to SUCTION 8 tenants, I think the Army has a few surplus tanks they would like to get rid of, buy one. Gives new meaning to 24hrs to inspect notice...
