TIP OF THE WEEK
for the week of May 14, 2012
CREATIVE FOR RENT STRATEGIES PART 3

9. You can get reasonably priced signs that can be put in the yard or in the window from Vistaprint.com.

10. We put up aluminum real estate signs for the front yard and brochure boxes where we put single page 4/c with pictures, list of amenities, price, etc. We get a lot of calls from them.

11. On each side of the front bay window of my multi-units I have large signs permanently mounted about 10' above the sidewalk. They say apartments for rent and have my business number. I am constantly getting calls for people looking for units. If I have something empty either there or at another location, I talk to them about it. If I don't have anything coming up soon I give them the names of some of my landlord friends who might have something. Since these signs are on busy streets, I get more calls then I can handle.

12. Whenever I have a vacancy or know one is coming up, I send a notice to all of my nearby tenants reminding them of my $100.00 gift card for any referral that applies, is accepted & actually moves into a unit.

Comments From Landlords:

  • "Jeff, I just love your free email newsletter. It is WONDERFUL!! Thank you for writing it! Strangely enough most of my friends and family do not own Real Estate investment properties so I find it hard to relate to them on this topic. Your newsletter makes me feel like I am part of the club!"
    Angela, NY.
  • "My husband and I became LLs about a year ago so I'm definitely a newbie. If it weren't for this site which is full of feed back of ideas, suggestions, and advice, I really wouldn't know where to turn. I read the posts every day even if the particular post didn't apply to me because I never know if I might need it in the future. There are a few associations in my area but the LLs that I've met seem a bit closed mouth and are unwilling to share their experiences... the wealth of knowledge that is given at this site is priceless. On my behalf, I thank all the 'experienced' landlords for willing to share their experiences."
    Cher, FL.

  • "Hi, my name is Joey and I am a mrlandlord.com addict. But hey, unlike other addictions, this one saves me lots of money."
    Joey, NJ.
